Blood Orange French 76

The bright, citrus taste of blood orange coupled with bubbles makes a Blood Orange French 76 a fabulous, happy winter cocktail!

This Blood Orange French 76 is sure to be a hit at any winter cocktail hour (or brunch).

What is a French 76?

A French 76 is a variation of the traditional French 75 cocktail, except the gin is switched out for vodka. If you prefer vodka over gin, the French 76 variation is sure to become a cocktail favorite!

A French 76 typically contains lemon juice, vodka, simple syrup and champagne (or Prosecco). This fun twist on the French 76 switches the lemon juice for blood orange juice.

What ingredients are in a Blood Orange French 76?

Blood Oranges- Blood Oranges are a unique and typically winter citrus fruit.

Vodka- Use your favorite vodka for this French 76.

Bubbles- You can use champagne, Prosecco, or sparkling wine in the French 76. With the blood orange juice and simple syrup flavors, you really don’t need to worry about using an expensive bottle of bubbles. Personally, I prefer a dry or extra dry bottle of bubbly- but if you prefer a sweeter bubbly that’s fine too!

Simple Syrup- You can buy remade simple syrup from most grocery stores, or make your own.

Make simple syrup by bringing one cup of sugar and one cup of water to a boil on the stovetop. Cool the simple syrup before using, and store the leftovers in the refrigerator for other cocktails.
